Srapion Danielyan



Srapion Danielyan was born on January 8, 1967 in Ararat, Ararat province, Republic of Armenia

From 1991 to 1997, he studied at the Department of Painting of the Institute of Fine Arts and Theatre in Yerevan.

While studying, Srapion Danielyan, back then, already worked at Gh. Saryan Art College in Ararat, Armenia, as a painting teacher.

Since 1997, he has participated in a series of exhibitions held in Armenia.

Between 1998 and 2001, he worked as a painting teacher at Translation College in Ararat, Armenia.

Since 2001, Danielyan has been a member of the Union of Artists of Armenia. The same year, he organised his first solo exhibition at the Committee of Cultural Relations of Foreign Countries in Yerevan. He has been taking part in group exhibitions, as well as in exhibitions in Armenia.
Parallel with painting, Srapion Danielyan, between 2005 and 2008, was dedicated to photography at “PhotoReview” agency, cooperating with several organisations and journals – “Business Class”, “Amplifier” periodicals, “90 minutes” weekly, etc.

In 2005, the second solo exhibition was held at Russian Art Museum in Yerevan, Armenia.

In 2009, the Artist earned the Jubilee Medal of the Armenian Association of Russia – among the winners of the best painting competition.

In 2010, he received the “Vahan Tekeyan” award for his painting “Exodus”. The same year, he was awarded the “Vardgues Surenyants” commemorative medal at the exhibitions of Armenian artists worldwide.

In 2011, he was awarded the golden medal of the Municipality of Ararat city.

Since 2008, for 10 years in a row, he has been working at the studio “Line and colour” – as a painting teacher.

In 2010, his solo exhibition was held at the “Tekeyan” centre.

In 2011, the Union of Artists of Armenia delegated Srapion Danielyan to France – on a two-month-long stay and creativity at La Cité internationale des arts.

Since 2012, Srapion Danielyan has been working as a painting teacher at the Chair of Panting of Khachatur Abovian Armenian State Pedagogical University.

Since 2019, he has been cooperating with the National Gallery of Armenia as a photographer.
