- ABOUT THE ARTIST
- ARTIST'S WORK
My motto is "Independence and freedom of thinking."
Born in 1946 in the village of Parni, Lori region, Armenia. From a young age, I drew everywhere where I could capture the images that were born in my head.
Having moved with my family to Yerevan, in 1956 entered Art College A. Kojoyan.
- In 1963, entered the Yerevan State Art College named after Panos Terlemezian. In those years, in addition to oil painting, I was fond of watercolor and pastel techniques. In 1968, after graduating from college, I thoroughly chose the oil painting technique for myself. To paint in oil is to feel every touch of the brush, every contour and depth of paint on the canvas.
- In 1971-1977 studied at the State Academy of Arts of Armenia, under the guidance of Eduard Isabekyan.
- In 1977, participated in the exhibition "Young Artists of Armenia." Later in 1979, I was invited to the plein air of artists in Transcarpathia, Ukraine. Member of the Union of Artists of Armenia since 1984.
- In 1988, I participated in a sales exhibition in Cologne, Berlin.
It seemed very traditional to me to paint in oil on canvas, I wanted to transfer oil to paper. After many experiments, I found a way, or rather, it was a technological breakthrough in my career. - In 2006, at the invitation of Minister of Health Ara Babloyan and the Semra Charitable Committee, I opened my own exhibition in Paris and Switzerland.
My paintings have been exhibited in many galleries around the world: Toronto, Berlin, UAE, Cyprus.
At the moment, some paintings are in private collections around the world.
